Happy Halloween!

This weekend was Halloween. My company held a huge costume contest. My department dressed like Where's Waldo. I don't think anyone will say Finance isn't creative for awhile.

Then on Halloween. I went to my very first corn maze. It was awesome. The maze took about 45 minutes. Then I shot a corn cannon and jumped on a giant pillow and went on an old school hayride. It was something I think I'll start as a new tradition.
to complete the weekend. I went to see a movie. Couple therapy. It was funny, but it also was more serious than I expected from a VV movie. But it inspired some great discussion so it was worth it. I'm of to AZ for the week. So there will be more to post at a later date!

Where did fall go?

When I got up this morning it was 47 out. 47! Can you believe it? What happened to fall? We are in winter weather already. This is ridiculous. On to other news. This weekend is the Silver Fox's birthday. 57. Can you believe it? Going home to hang out Friday and Saturday night with the parents and go tailgating on Saturday afternoon. Some friends are coming in from Chicago and I can wait to see them.

Speaking of friends from Chicago. My friend Cassie turned 26 this past weekend and I drove up to Chicago to visit her. All I can say is I LOVE i-zoom. Whoever created it, is a genius. I didn't have to hardly stop at all thanks to this great invention, plus since I never carry cash I didn't have to go to the bank either. It was wonderful. Thanks in part to the wonderful invention that is i-zoom I won't let another 1.5 years pass before I go back for a visit.

New job!

I finished my first week at my new job. It's going great! I also had my first weekend back in South Bend after moving to Fort Wayne. It was much more difficult than I thought it would be. It was extremely difficult to come back after a great weekend back helping some friends paint their house and hearing their plans for baby R and of course spending some time with James. It really didn't hit me how hard it was to be away until I saw him on Friday night. Then it became real. This is going to be very difficult.

Reunion Recap

The 4th annual Flan Clan reunion was a success! We had real Southern BBQ, went on a hike to the Blue Ridge Parkway, and of course had fun spending quality time together. During the course of the 3 days we also organized a guitar hero tournament which Erin won and Meghan placed a very close 2nd.

waiting...

In a few days I'm leaving for north carolina!! Every year my college friends and a get together for a Flan Clan reunion in a different location. We've been to Grosse Pointe, MI; Chicago, IL; Silver Lake, IN; and Washington DC. I can't wait to see everyone and have a chance to catch up. I also can't wait to post all the pictures I'll be taking during my time in NC. :)

55 and still alive

Today we celebrated my mom's 55th birthday. About a week early, but it was still a good time. We baked mom a red velvet cake with cream cheese frosting and had grilled chicken and vegetables for dinner. While mom and I watched my brother's wedding video my dad and brother hung crown molding in the kitchen and foyer. All and all a very successful day.

Planning

Currently I'm helping to plan my Grandma's 78th surprise birthday party. We're having a mass at my grandparents home followed by dinner and cake for everyone. Needless to say it's just slightly stressful. My family hasn't RSVPed so I have no idea how many people are coming and therefore can't tell the caterer how many people will be there to feed.

I'm also disappointed I can't be there. While I'm super excited about going to North Carolina for the 4th annual Flan Clan reunion, I'm sad I won't be there to celebrate with Grandma or my mom who will be 55 on the same day. I don't understand why everything has to happen at the same and I end up making decisions like this.
